I think that the prepwork can--and will!--be covered in one entry!
This is due in great measure to the quality of the casting and the thought that went into the mold design. Seam lines are pretty much non-existent; and, where they are discernible, they are no more than faint wisps of "micro-flash". You should be completely done in less than an hour!
The figure has a red star pendant cast in situ on her bare chest. Whether this is the artist's take on her party insignia or a prototypical Order of the Red Star (not introduced until 1930), I cannot say. In any event, I was not taken with this enhancement to the basic design of the figure, so it was carefully removed and the exposed flesh reworked.
To date, assembly has been largely filler-free. The one exception to this will be the fitting of the right forearm to the upper edge of the rudder. Please note, however, that this is not so much a fill as it is a tweaking of the provided/stock fit.
Finally, I have reworked the cuffs of the gloves/gauntlets. These were decidedly overworked by the sculptor: while acceptable as visual interest on the bare sculpture, it would have been annoy- ingly distracting once painted.
